No Going Back to follow PC-23 Restoration
We are very pleased to announce that David Wilfords No Going Back Productions will be filming the restoration of Penske PC-23 chassis 008. The Penske arrived very recently and preliminary work has already started.

Mercedes-Benz DTM Runs at Palm Beach
After a two year restoration between 2009 and 2010 the Mercedes-Benz DTM finally made its track debut on Saturday (25th). Driven by owner Howard Katz the car completed a full shakedown and systems check completing 50 problem free miles at Palm Beach in Florida.
Thought to be the only running car of its type the 1994 DTM bristles with active systems previously banned in Formula 1 in the early...
Leyton House at the Motorsport Hall of Fame
Now in its third year, Motorsport Magazine’s annual Hall of Fame was held last night (Feb 17th) at the Round House in Camden.
Over the course of the evening, Jake Humphrey announced this year’s inductees starting with the late Colin McRae. Set to the backdrop of a stirring film extolling Colin’s phenomenal car control, the award was accepted by his father Jimmy. Next up were...

Dawn Treader at the Motorsport Hall of Fame
The Dawn Treader team has been called upon once again to provide a car for the annual Hall of Fame event organised by Motorsport Magazine. At the inaugural event in 2010 the Lotus 98T represented the induction of Ayrton Senna, last year Sir Frank Williams was honoured and represented by Jacques Villeneuve’s race winning FW18.
We can’t tell you which car we will be taking this year,...

Penske PC-23 to join collection
We are very pleased to announce the addition of a PC-23 to the Dawn Treader Collection. The PC-23 is probably regarded as the ultimate Penske having swept all before it during the 1994 Indycar season. The chassis type finished 1-2-3 on five separate occasions in the hands of Al Unser Jr, Emerson Fittipaldi and Paul Tracy.

No Going Back to produce Leyton House Fire Up...
David Wilford’s No Going Back Productions is to produce a short feature documentary on the complex task of starting an F1 car. We decided to use the Leyton House as a good example of a car that needs pre-heating and a little electronic help.
The feature takes us through each stage of starting the car from pre-heating to “bumping the engine” and will explain the reasons behind...

Porsche restoration progresses
After a lengthy strip and repaint by Carbody (who as ever have done a stunning job) the Porsche chassis is now back in the workshop. In the time it has been away progress has been made on the chassis components, many of which can now be installed. It is always a good feeling to start bolting freshly restored parts back onto a car.

Rockingham demo
Hopefully everyone who attended the BTCC round at Rockingham this weekend enjoyed the show. The weather was perfect for most of the day and it was terrific to watch Gary demo the PC-26 on an oval.
Our friends at No Going Back Productions mounted cameras under the roll hoop for this event and as soon as the footage is edited we will post a link.

PC-26 to feature at rockingham
As a part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Rockingham Speedway we are pleased to be running an Indycar there once more. Rockingham hosted two CART races in 2001 and 2002 with Penske’s Gil deFerran (pictured below) winning the inaugural event.
We are currently prepping the PC-26 for Gary Ward to demo on Sunday the 18th of September.

Penske's at Sywell
We were all very pleased (and slightly shocked) to find this photo on the front of Sywell’s Aerodrome Magazine this summer. It was a rare privilege to have these six cars in our care for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
From left to right - G-Force Toyota (2003 Indy winner), Penske PC-26 (Penske team win No. 99) PC-23 003 (1994 Mercedes Pushrod car), PC-23 007 (1994 Indy winning...

Williams FW18 Pictures Part 2
A couple more…
The headers are exquisite and are eerily similar in construction to the Leyton House CG901 system. Many of the bends are two part seam-welded. The men and women who make these are very talented people. Ben Matthews and Kris Nash have spent a lot of time cleaning them up… On exhausts we typically go for a high Scotch-Brite finish to give an original looking...

Williams FW18 Pictures
Although we haven’t really started on the Williams proper we have had cause to put it up on stands and remove the floor. It is a superbly designed and manufactured car - a real joy to work on. Items such as the uprights are simply a work of art and the Renault V10 castings are of the best quality we have seen.
Here are a few pictures just to get going -

The New Dawn Treader Blog
When we relaunched the Dawn Treader website back in 2009 we had every intention of keeping it up to date. This has been harder than anticipated largely because the interface was not very user friendly.
We hope over time to integrate this feed into the website but for now we hope you find our posts here of interest!
